Gangnam Station is one of the busiest in Seoul, and the district around it — COEX, the underground malls, the clinics and offices — is the kind of place you want to explore without a suitcase in tow. The good news: this is a well-stocked stop for storage.
Coin lockers at Gangnam Station
Gangnam sits on Line 2 and the Sinbundang line, and it's a sprawling station, so the lockers aren't in one place — they're near several exits. Pricing is the standard ₩2,200 to ₩4,400 for the first four hours. Because the station is so busy, the large lockers can be gone by early afternoon; the Gangnam locker page shows which banks still have space right now.
A day in Gangnam without your bag
Whether you're here for COEX and the aquarium, the shopping under Gangnam Station, or an appointment, the routine is the same: store the suitcase in the morning, spend the day light, and collect it before you move on. A medium locker is plenty for a carry-on and a coat if the big case is staying at your hotel.
The staffed desk at Gangnam
Gangnam is one of the stations with a staffed T-Luggage counter, so if your bag won't fit a locker — or you'd rather have it delivered to your hotel or the airport — there's a person to hand it to. The full guide covers when the desk is worth it over a locker.
Finding a locker in a big station
Gangnam is large enough that "the lockers are full" usually just means the bank you walked up to is full. Try a different exit before giving up. First time paying at the screen? The foreigner's how-to covers cards and cash.
