Looking for luggage storage in Insadong is confusing for one reason: Insadong is a neighbourhood, not a station, so the lockers are not in one place. The 7 spots and roughly 176 units around it are split between Anguk and Jongno 3-ga.
Anguk (Line 3) — 3 spots, 108 units
On numbers alone this is the answer. Anguk has spots of 42, 41 and 25 units, and all three sit by the B2 gates. If one bank is full the next is a few steps away, not a level and a corridor away.
Anguk is also the Gyeongbokgung and Bukchon side. If Insadong is one stop on a walk that continues to the palace or the hanok village, store here.
Jongno 3-ga (Lines 1, 3, 5) — 4 spots, 68 units
This is a three-line interchange, so the lockers are spread by line:
- Line 1, near Exit 2-1 — 25 units
- Line 3, near Exit 2-1 — 17 units
- Line 5, B1 level toward Exits 4 and 5 — 17 units
- Line 1, near Exits 10–13 — 9 units
The underground here is large. Work out which line's gates you want before you go down, or you will walk it twice. The Insadong locker page lists each spot with what is free by size.
So which one
- Anguk — more units, all together. Best if Bukchon or Gyeongbokgung is also on the day.
- Jongno 3-ga — if you arrive on Line 1 or 5, or your next move is toward Euljiro or Dongdaemun.
Price and hours
Price does not change by station: ₩2,200 small, ₩3,300 medium, ₩4,400 large for the first four hours, then ₩500 / ₩800 / ₩1,000 hourly. Pay by credit card, bank transfer or mobile carrier billing, then key the one-time PIN into the locker within about 3 minutes.
