The most common luggage storage mistake in Dongdaemun is getting off at the wrong station. There are two with near-identical names, and the lockers are split between them:

  • Dongdaemun Station — Lines 1 and 4
  • Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station — Lines 2, 4 and 5, connected to DDP

One stop apart, but a long walk with a suitcase if you pick wrong. Together they hold 7 spots and about 169 units.

Dongdaemun History & Culture Park — 4 spots, 97 units

The bigger side.

  • Line 2, near Exit 1 — 36 units
  • Line 4, by the gates near the restrooms — 28 units
  • Line 2, near Exit 1, by the shops — 24 units
  • Line 5, B2 gates (Exits 6 and 7) — 9 units

This is the stop for DDP, the wholesale malls and the night market. Sixty of those units sit on the Line 2 Exit 1 side alone, so it is the easier place to find something free.

Dongdaemun Station — 3 spots, 72 units

  • Line 4, near Exit 8 — 26 units
  • Line 1, near Exit 1 — 25 units
  • Line 4, near Exit 9, by the i-Center — 21 units

Closer if you arrive on Line 1, or if you are heading for Heunginjimun, the old east gate.

Which one

  • DDP, malls, night market → Dongdaemun History & Culture Park (97 units)
  • Heunginjimun, or travelling on Line 1 → Dongdaemun Station (72 units)

The Dongdaemun locker page lists both stations together with what is free by size, so you can decide before the doors open.

Price and hours

Identical at both: ₩2,200 small, ₩3,300 medium, ₩4,400 large for four hours, then ₩500 / ₩800 / ₩1,000 hourly. Lockers run roughly 05:00 to midnight, and you cannot collect outside that. Dongdaemun runs late, so this is the one to watch here.
